Your Voice Can
Make a Difference
It has been my privilege to serve you for the past four years on the Alpine Board. It is not a responsibility I take lightly, and I hope that you will support me in serving another four-year term.
As your board member, I serve as the channel through which you hold our schools accountable, through whom you take ownership of your local schools. Your values, your expectations, and your commitment to a bright future should all be reflected in my service. I offer my experience, my unending devotion to our children, and a personal commitment to Alpine’s promise of continuous improvement.
Partner with me in the governance of our schools! A partnership characterized by good communication, healthy dialogue, and earned trust.
Thank you for your continued support,
Ada
Governing
Principles
THE WORTH OF A CHILD
Every child, regardless of any external factors, is a priceless individual, worthy and deserving of an quality education — a mighty launch into adulthood. In approaching decisions, the questions to ask are, “What is best for the children?” and, “Where is the greatest need?”
PARENTS’ RIGHTS
Parents play the leading role in the rearing and education of their children, whether they choose public, private, or homeschooling. This role must be safeguarded in all aspects of school governance, from policy to instruction. Clear and frequent communication is foundational to a nurturing parent-teacher-school relationship.
STRONG COMMUNITIES
Strong schools are the foundation of strong and vibrant communities. We have a shared civic responsibility to fully fund and maintain public schools so that families have a reliable and excellent choice for educating their children, our future citizens.
Local Control
Schools are most effectively governed by those who live closest to them. Improvement is best driven from within and great leadership is exemplified by those who facilitate and support locally-driven goals and initiatives, not the other way around.
TEACHING AS A CAREER
There is no greater investment we can make for our children than to adequately compensate their teachers. Highly qualified teachers are our most valuable resource — they deserve to be able to support their families, participate in decisions that affect them, and grow professionally.

Endorsements
I fully support and endorse Ada Wilson as a candidate for the Alpine School District Board. I have known Ada for the past four years working with her as a representative on school community councils and on the Alpine School District Community Council. As I served in four Orem schools, Ada was often in attendance as well. She is a good listener and is well-informed on the successes and needs of each school. She comes prepared to discuss issues within the district, but is respectful of the roles others play.
Serving schools and our community is not a new interest or hobby to Ada. She has spent decades serving, leading, and involving the community in helping students, parents, teachers and administrators have a great school experience.
In a climate of constant change and challenges that can be so political and harsh, Ada serves with kindness, diligence, and with no personal agenda. Ada will do the research to vote for what is best for the students, families and teachers of Orem.
Sherri Wiltbank, Orem community volunteer
Without hesitation, I support Ada Wilson for Alpine School District School Board. No other candidate can match her experience with Orem and Vineyard Schools.
She has only the students in mind when she is making decisions. She altered the community when the Alpine School Board was deciding to build a new school in the Vineyard area, and her call to action is why we have Trailside Elementary today to serve 800+ students. She studies all of the materials and data before making critical decisions. She listens to the community (parents, teachers and staff) and acts accordingly when it fits within her purview of a school board member. She has a deep understanding of law and policy. She has seen us through unprecedented times during the COVID-19 pandemic and will continue to serve us well through the COVID-19 recovery period.
She is the school board member we will want during this divisive time in our community as Orem City (considers splitting away) from Alpine School District.
